Roadmap
Building in the open.
Every milestone, decision, and trade-off is public. Here is where we've been and where we're headed.
Core Trace Module
The foundational module for creating and managing product passports, digital records that capture the full lifecycle of an agricultural batch from origin to destination.
- ·Batch passports with structured metadata
- ·Event lifecycle management
- ·Signed attestations with multi-party support
Issuer Roles & Trust Registry
A role-based authorization layer that governs who can attest to what. The trust registry ensures that only authorized issuers can create or sign specific types of claims.
- ·Role-based authorization framework
- ·Issuer management and onboarding
- ·Trust policies and governance rules
Public Verification Widget
Consumer-facing verification that allows anyone to scan a QR code and instantly audit the full provenance of a product, no account or authentication required.
- ·QR-based verification flow
- ·Embeddable widget for partner sites
- ·Scan analytics and engagement metrics
Chain Anchoring v2
Enhanced blockchain anchoring with support for multiple chains, optimized gas costs, and batch anchoring for high-volume deployments.
- ·Multi-chain support (Ethereum, Polygon, etc.)
- ·Gas optimization through batch anchoring
- ·Selective anchoring policies
Scan Analytics
Intelligence layer that turns verification data into actionable insights, tracking scan patterns, detecting anomalies, and providing geographic distribution analysis.
- ·Verification metrics dashboard
- ·Anomaly detection algorithms
- ·Geographic and temporal insights
Terroir Shield
The climate resilience layer, integrating real-time environmental data with provenance workflows to enable automated response to weather events, frost alerts, and harvest timing.
- ·Climate resilience layer
- ·Weather oracle integrations
- ·Automated response workflows
Open Development
Everything is public. By design.
Terroir follows an RFC-driven development process. Every significant architectural decision is proposed, discussed, and ratified in public before implementation. Our changelog is published continuously, and all milestone progress is tracked in the open.
We believe infrastructure should be legible. If you want to understand how Terroir works, why a decision was made, or what trade-offs were considered, the answers are in the repository.
